Wasena Seedlings

Another Raleigh Court resident, doing cool things.  This from Christina Nifong:

Last year, our family helped start a school garden at Wasena Elementary School, where our daughter Fiona is now a 1st grader. This year, we are planning to plant and harvest again this spring, but we are also trying to raise money to expand the garden, buy kid-sized tools and start up a composting program at the school. To that end, we have been selected as charities of the month by Cups coffee shop and the Natural Foods Co-op, both on Grandin Rd. In March, if you buy a pound of coffee from Cups, the school garden gets $1; every half-pound bag of coffee sold earns us 50 cents. And at the Co-op, if you bring your own cloth bags, you will be given a poker chip at the register. Each time anyone puts his or her poker chip in the slot labeled “Wasena Seedlings School Garden” in the lobby of the store, the garden earns 5 cents.
So, support our garden and local businesses if you can in March. And tell everyone you know so they can help our garden grow too!!
