Grandin Road Holiday Children’s Parade – Nov. 19 @11AM

It kicks off the holiday season in Roanoke.  The annual Grandin Road Holiday Parade takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving every year!  Hundreds of families line Grandin watching clowns, bands and community groups march in the parade.  For some families its an annual event, for others it’s a new tradition to get them ready for the season!

The parade starts at Christ Lutheran Church at the corner of Grandin Road & Brandon Avenue and proceeds through Historic Grandin Village, ending at Mick or Mack (1312 Winborne St.). Held the Saturday before Thanksgiving each year, this is a neighborhood favorite and includes Santa on a Fire Engine and much more.

Registration is required this year to participate. Children of all ages are welcome. Come to the parking lot of Christ Lutheran Church between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on the day of the parade.  As this is a children’s parade, only small floats will be allowed (wagons, etc).   No motorized vehicles, please.  Scout groups, dance groups, and baton twirlers are encouraged to participate as well.
